This much-loved Morris wallpaper design has been simplified and re-painted using three colours, which brings a gentle sophistication to an interior and a contemporary flavour to this classic design.

Rambling Rose depicts that iconic stalwart of forest walks and cottage gardens alike, the English rose. Climbing, twisting and turning, this thorned rose’s beguiling labyrinthine structure betrays the rose’s symbolisation of earthy love and purity. A rarer feature in his wallpapers, the rose was a motif William Morris repeatedly turned to in tapestry as well as in poetry.

Rose (here called Rambling Rose), from 1877, returns to the Morris & Co. range for the first time in many years in the Emery Walker’s House collection.

Taken from a tile design, this wallpaper interpretation of the pattern creates a robust interlocking design. The motifs were hand cut and hand printed from lino, giving an authentic, block printed look. Available in simplistic colourways, the wallpaper is complemented by a fabric of the same name.

As its title suggests this wallpaper is inspired by a set of embroidered panels depicting the seasons in stitch-work designed and probably also embroidered by May Morris c.1895-1900. Now reinterpreted as a wallpaper Seasons by May features parakeets stylised roses tulips turning stems leaves and flowers amongst a mirrored trellis. Available in three colourways: A neutral Linen smart Indigo and striking Saffron which has a metallic ground.

Slightly larger in scale than its fabric counterpart, Severne was originally printed at Morriss Merton Abbey workshop in South London. An elegant damask of acanthus leaves framing a central flowerhead, this is a new design for the Simply Morris collection.

Reportedly one of Morriss favourite designs and originally produced in 1876, this wallpaper features clusters of snakeshead fritillaries and is an ideal wallpaper to team with larger scale Morris fabrics. Capturing the joys of spring, Trellis is seen here for the first time in all its newly recoloured glory. A night and day contrast to its darker original, this Philip Webb design from 1862 is like an ode to a dawn chorus and the promise of a sunlit morning.

Morris & Co. are thrilled to re-introduce Wallflower, an 1890 wallpaper design created by William Morris. Scrolling acanthus leaves foreground tenderly rendered wallflowers, creating a pattern of enormous energy and vitality. Dark spots offer the paper a layer of texture whilst the whitened foliage introduces an almost sculptural quality.

Created with elements from two embroideries designed by William Morris c.1880 Wilhelmina is a large tiled repeat of scrolling acanthus leaves and bellflowers surrounded by a decorative border. With its beautiful tonal appearance this largescale wallpaper design is available in a lovely Indigo colourway.

With its reduced scale Willow Bough Minor provides a good option as a wallcovering suitable for smaller spaces whilst retaining the character of the original version.

Depicting ‘millefluers’ or many different small flowers and plants, Woodland Weeds is one of Ben’s favourite designs. Often shown on a green ground, as though growing in grass, the pattern is attributed to John Henry Dearle. First printed in 1905, this archive document is unusually symmetrical and perpendicular for a Morris & Co. design.
